This Privacy Policy describes how LegalBevy and (collectively referred to as “LEGALBEVY,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, stores, and uses personal information when you use the LEGALBEVY online services (“LEGALBEVY Service”), including the LEGALBEVY Website (as described in the LEGALBEVY Terms and Conditions). By using LEGALBEVY, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Conversely, if you do not accept this Privacy Policy, you may not access or otherwise use the LEGALBEVY Service.


Generally, LEGALBEVY is a consolidated databank of state and local rules of civil procedure for legal professionals.  LEGALBEVY also provides a platform for legal professionals to locate and use products and services from legal service providers who are registered with the LEGALBEVY website.

What is Personal Information?



Personal Information (or Personally Identifiable Information) is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Personal Information does not include information that is not used to identify you, such as aggregate or anonymous information. Federal and state law requires us to protect the confidentiality of Personal Information.

What information do we collect and how do we collect it?



We collect Personal Information in a number of ways. We automatically collect information when you use the LEGALBEVY Service. We also collect information about you that you provide to us, or that we obtain from third-party sources. 

Information that we automatically collect. We automatically collect certain types of information when you use the LEGALBEVY Service. We may collect information related to your use of the LEGALBEVY Service, including but not limited to your browser usage and history, and information regarding your LEGALBEVY Service use. We may link information we automatically collect from you with Personal Information, including information you provide to us and information we gather from other sources.  We may use software to follow your use of the LEGALBEVY Service, including the use of cookies, web beacons, and other mechanisms, in addition to analysis of network and device information.  For example, we may allow analytic service providers(s) to collect site click-stream and cookie data to help follow the use of LEGALBEVY Service on an aggregate or individual basis.

Information you provide to us. You may give us Personal Information in a variety of ways, including but not limited to when you sign up/register for the LEGALBEVY Service, fill out a profile page, purchase products and/or services, communicate with us, or use the LEGALBEVY website. Information collected from other sources. We may obtain Personal Information about you from other sources, including from commercially available sources such as data aggregators and public databases, as well as from our affiliates and partners (including third-party vendor partners). This information may include your name, demographic information, purchase history, interests and publicly-observed data, such as from social media, or other information. We may combine this information with the information we collect from and about you to help us tailor our communications to you, to improve the LEGALBEVY Service, and to provide you with offers, promotions, and advertisements.

User Contributions. You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the Site or transmitted to other users of the Website or Application or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). This includes information regarding other individuals that you wish to submit to us for purposes of displaying common connections with other Site users for such individuals. You may not post or otherwise provide any information about third parties that you do not have permission to do so. Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although we limit access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Site with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.



How do we use your information?



We may use the information we collect from or about you in several ways.  For example, we will use the information:

  • To provide the LEGALBEVY Service
  • To respond to customer service requests and troubleshoot technical issues
  • To protect the security or integrity of the LEGALBEVY Service, our business, and other customers
  • To develop new products or services
  • To personalize your experience of the LEGALBEVY Service
  • To quickly process your transactions
  • To contact you by e-mail, phone, or direct mail, including to contact you about LEGALBEVY or third-party products, services, and/or offers that we believe you may find of interest

Personal Information collected through the LEGALBEVY website:  When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card or place an order, you are consenting to allow us to use your information to complete that transaction. 

Non-personal or aggregate information that we collect: We automatically collect non-personal information from your use of the LEGALBEVY Service, such as IP host address, device-specific identifiers, computer or smartphone configurations, pages viewed, time and usage habits on the LEGALBEVY Service and similar data. It is possible at times when collecting non-personal information through automatic means that we may unintentionally collect or receive personal information that is mixed in with the non-personal information. While we will make reasonable efforts to prevent such incidental data collection, the possibility still exists. If we do inadvertently collect personal information, we will not intentionally use such personal information as if we had collected it with your consent. We may also aggregate demographic information collected from our users (such as the number of users in a particular State) in a manner that does not identify any one individual.

Google Analytics and HotJar. We use Google Analytics and HotJar,  web analytics services provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) and HotJar ("HotJar") to collect certain information relating to your use of the Site. Google Analytics and HotJar uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the Site analyze how users use the site. Information Collected Through Cookies and Similar Technologies. We and our service providers use location data, cookies, flash cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our Site through your computer or mobile device. A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. When you visit the Site again, the cookie allows the Site to recognize your browser. Cookies may store unique identifiers, user preferences and other information. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service, including for storing user preferences and tracking user trends.

No Information from Children Under Age 18. Tracking Technology and Advertising. Some web browsers permit you to broadcast a signal to websites and online services indicating a preference that they “do not track” your online activities. At this time, we do not honor such signals, but we currently do not use automated data collection technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking). Your Consent. In addition to the sharing described elsewhere in this Policy, we will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Company when we have your consent to do so.



How do we protect information?



We implement a variety of reasonable physical, technical, and administrative security measures to maintain the safety of your Personal Information. Your Personal Information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. When you place orders or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive/credit information you supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL/TLS) technology and then encrypted into secured databases to be only accessed as stated above.  The security of your information is very important to us. To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. However, due to the inherent open nature of the Internet and wireless communications, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will be completely free from unauthorized access by third parties, such when transferred over or through systems not within our exclusive control. Data Access: LEGALBEVY data collected through use of the LEGALBEVY website, including location information, activity, training behavior, usage patterns is generally not available to customers for their own, direct access.

Other services: As a convenience to you, we may provide links to third-party services from within our LEGALBEVY Service. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third party services and such links should not be construed as an endorsement of any such third party services. Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?



Subject to applicable legal restrictions on our use of Personal Information, applicable federal and state law, and your instructions to us, we may disclose information we collect from and about you to third parties as follows (or as otherwise described to you at the point of collection):



  • Affiliates. We may share your Personal Information with affiliated entities for certain business purposes.
  • Service Providers. We may share your Personal Information with third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as technical agents, payment processing vendors, other subcontractors, and our affiliates and consultants.
  • Advertisers and Advertising Networks. LEGALBEVY may display advertisements, which may be served by LEGALBEVY or through third party providers. The advertisements that are served on the website include targeted, behavioral advertising based upon information provided by or compiled about you and our users to provide more relevant advertising content. We believe that the ads we may display are more effective when they are shown to users who are likely to be interested in the product or service advertised. For this reason, we use the data we collect and receive to help us choose which ads to show to users and for purposes of providing advertising by us and other third parties. LEGALBEVY and third parties operating the ad serving technology may use demographic and geo-location information as well as information logged from your hardware or device to ensure that relevant advertising is presented, including but not limited to, IP address, device IDs, application usage data, hardware type, operating system information, browser information, unique identifiers in browser cookies, and online usage information. When you consent to enabling access to your geo-location data on the website, LEGALBEVY will collect and process your location data in connection with the advertising described above. To the extent LEGALBEVY makes available geo-location to third parties in accordance with the Privacy Policy, it will be provided anonymously. If you wish to opt-out of certain targeted advertising, please e-mail for additional information. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the opt-out reaches or is put into effect promptly by all advertising partners and certain behaviorally targeted advertising may still be displayed. Additionally, “opt-out” does not mean that you will no longer receive advertising. It just means that the advertising you see displayed will not be customized to you and your interests and may be less relevant to you. If you want to be certain that no advertisements are displayed to you, please do not use the LEGALBEVY service.
  • Third Party Verification Services. We may share limited Personal Information (e.g., name, postal address, phone number, or credit card information) about you with non-LEGALBEVY entities to assist with identity verification, payment transactions and to prevent fraud and identity theft. These third-party verification services are governed by those entities’ separate privacy policies and not this policy. 
  • Other Third-Parties with Your Consent. We may share your Personal Information with other third-parties with your consent. For example, you may permit LEGALBEVY to share your Personal Information with other third parties so that they may contact you about their products and services. The use of the information you agree to share will be subject to those third parties’ separate privacy policies.
  • Business Transfers. Your Personal Information may be disclosed as part of any merger, acquisition, sale of company assets or transition of service to another provider. In the unlikely event of an insolvency, bankruptcy or receivership, your Personal Information may also be transferred as a business asset.
  • Protection of LEGALBEVY and Others. We may disclose your Personal Information or communications to do things such as: to comply with valid legal requests; in case of emergency, to protect our rights, property, or safety or those of our customers; to protect against fraud, malice, abuse, or illegal activity; to defend ourselves in court or other proceedings; to report to credit bureaus or collection agencies or to obtain payment for previously-billed products and services; where authorized by you; or to share with outside auditors or regulators.

De-identified or aggregated information. We may share Personal Information that is reasonably de-identified or in an aggregated form that does not directly identify you to improve our products, support our business, provide customer service, advertise our products, share with conduct market research, assist with research studies, assist with municipal or other government activities (e.g., planning), or to prepare internal or external reports.



How can you opt-out, remove or modify information you have provided to us?

What if I visit or use a third-party website, application, or service?



When using the LEGALBEVY Service, you may choose to use products and services offered by third-parties. Your use of such services and applications may result in these third-parties collecting your Personal Information and obtaining information from LEGALBEVY, including location information (when applicable). You may also choose to give your Personal Information directly to third-parties when using the LEGALBEVY Service. The Personal Information you give to a third-party will be subject to that third-party’s terms, conditions, and policies—not this LEGALBEVY Privacy Policy. You should always review a third party’s privacy policy and terms of service before providing your Personal Information to them or using their services or products. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).


What special rights apply to California consumers?



The California “Shine the Light” law, California Civil Code Section 1798.83, entitles California consumers to request information concerning whether a business has disclosed Personal Information to any third parties for that business’ direct marketing purposes. LEGALBEVY may share Personal Information between our affiliates and marketing agents for marketing purposes. We do not share your Personal Information with unaffiliated third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent. California residents may request the categories of Personal Information LEGALBEVY shared with its affiliates during the previous calendar year, if any. Consent to Processing of Personal Data in the United States



This Site and Services are not intended for and are not directed to residents of the European Union. By using and accessing our Site, users who reside or are located in countries outside of the United States agree and consent to the transfer to and processing of personal information on servers located outside of the country where they reside, and that the protection of such information may be different than required under the laws of their residence or location.



Changes to this Privacy Policy



LEGALBEVY reserves the right to modify the terms of this policy from time to time, and will notify you of any material changes in the manner required by law.
